Jon Hobbs: Dry Needling for Sports Injuries and Performance Mentorship Course

Course Description
This unique two-day mentorship approach course is designed for clinicians who wish to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical application of the use of dry needling in the treatment of a variety of acute and recurring sports injuries. The course covers a variety of musculoskeletal presentations as well as boarder physiological concepts and their influence on healing, recovery and performance. It also covers a variety of additional advanced needling techniques that can be utilised for the treatment of both acute and chronic sports injuries. The practical component of the course includes the role of needling within the broad scope of sports related conditions. Needling techniques taught will include myofascial trigger point needling, deep pelvic, lumbar and sacral needling, peripheral needling, electro-needling and vagal nerve stimulation needling for recovery.
Clinical reasoning will be continually underpinned by the “Hobbs Paradigm” of “Five Reasons to Needle” and matched to the pathophysiology of the problem. There is a significant practical component to the course and this aspect will cover a variety of needling techniques, locations, prescriptions and approaches to address a potentially wide variety of presentations. Step by step guidance will be given in this problem based mentorship course.
About your Tutor:
The course tutor Jonathan Hobbs is former AACP Chair (10 years) & a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is a former principal of a school of Physical Therapy with over 25 year of clinical needling experience and almost 3000 students taught worldwide including Physical Therapists within Team GB, Premiership football, MoD, NHS in the UK & NFL and Navy SEALs in the US. He has taught acupuncture and dry needling for over 25 years and is in the second decade of teaching cadaveric anatomy.
